There’s a growing body of research suggesting that the plant may be a good anti-aging remedy for dementia and Alzheimer’s, according to the head of the Alzheimer’s Association.
Aloe verum may help prevent the progression of the disease, according a study published by the Alzheimer Center in San Diego, California, and researchers say it could also help prevent other types of dementia, such as dementia with a different cause.
The study, published in the Journal of Alzheimer’s Disease, compared the effectiveness of two other plant-based medicines, vitamin E and zinc.
It found that the use of vitamin E improved cognitive function in patients with mild cognitive impairment and dementia, and zinc reduced the risk of developing dementia.
“This is the first study that has evaluated the safety and efficacy of Aloe Vera for dementia,” said Dr. Thomas Schubert, executive director of the Center for Alzheimer’s Research.
“This study shows that the Aloe Vera may also be able to prevent the development of dementia in the elderly.”
People can take this as an important addition to their diet, especially if they’re taking an Alzheimer’s medication.
These extracts may help to prevent neurodegenerative diseases by acting as antioxidants and preventing the formation of new molecules that can cause the disease.””
The plant extracts may act as antioxidants to help protect the brain and the brain cells against damage,” Dr. Mark Bialek, an assistant professor of gerontology at the University of California, San Diego and lead author of the study, said in a statement.
“These extracts may help to prevent neurodegenerative diseases by acting as antioxidants and preventing the formation of new molecules that can cause the disease.”
The main advantage of Aloes extracts for this group is that they are relatively inexpensive and may be available in many different forms, which may make it easier to find the one you are looking for.
“Dr. Schuber added that Aloes extract may also reduce the risk for heart disease.
